The Systems Administrator is responsible for the maintenance and monitoring of the hardware and software systems running in the onsite infrastructure as well as on our cloud hosted providers. Maintaining a stable server environment while maintaining minimum network downtime, meeting the changing needs of management and overseeing the loading of new software and software releases.

Duties include configuration, installation, staging and maintenance of servers and desktop systems and company-standard software. Support customers and employees via email, telephone, and face-to-face interaction. Maintain system backup procedures. Manage user accounts (creation, deletion, modification).

  • This is a full-time position located in our Boulder, CO office.


Color Commentary:

  • • Install and troubleshoot Windows applications and/or server related problems.
    • Tier 2 Helpdesk support.
    • Analyze and monitor server performance and make adjustments to gain maximum efficiency.
    • Recognize and solve any workstation related problems. Provides technical advice to management and staff.
    • Assist in solving malfunctions of the network and desktop hardware or software. Update and test the server and desktop Disaster Recovery plan to ensure compliance and accuracy. Review all proposed new technologies and determine whether the proposed technology can be integrated with existing systems. Document all required procedure and configuration changes to production systems.
    • Support all branches to ensure system requirements are met. Work as a team player and technical advisor when assigned to special projects. Maintain server and workstation policy and procedure manuals and keep department staff informed of all changes.
    • Assist in analyzing and monitoring server security and implements patches/fixes to address potential security holes. Ensure that adequate security procedures are developed and followed to protect from potential loss and ensure the confidentiality of the information is maintained by the system.

    • Good prioritization, execution and follow through skills
    • Flexibility during hardware installs, system problems, or virus attacks
    • Troubleshooting and resolution of problems to meet current IT SLA timelines, his position requires on-call status
    • Keep manager or supervisor informed of problems, resolutions and status of workload, recommend improvements to current systems
    • Self-motivated and takes initiative on items that will create better efficiencies for the department and/or company
    • Requires cross training and clearly communicating to fellow employees about technical issues and/or procedures
    • Stay abreast of current technology as well as possible future technologies that could benefit the company
    • Creates well documented procedures for common activities
    • Travel in the US required - 1-2 times per year

Where you’ve spent your time and what you are good at:

Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a System Administrator on similarly complex systems

  • Windows Servers, VMware and Windows Desktop Operating Systems
  • MPLS, SAN, server, switch, wireless and firewall maintenance
  • AD, DNS, DHCP, Office 365, WSUS  and GPO
  • Compliance and Security
  • Multi-site systems management
  • VLAN and VOIP configuration
  • SQL Server a plus
