The Payroll / HR Generalist will handle all aspects of payroll processing and various HR and generalist tasks including HRIS maintenance, benefits administration, onboarding and recruiting.  There is an opportunity to initiate and drive HR projects, be creative, and help create an engaged workforce.

 

Color Commentary:

  • Responsible for all aspects of a bi-weekly payroll for a multi-state retail employer using ADP Workforce Now, staying current with system updates and coordinating changes when laws require system adjustments
  • Responsible for benefits administration, leave administration, and new hire paperwork
  • Assist with all aspects of recruiting
  • Partner with VP of HR on a variety of HR tasks including employee engagement, culture development, and workforce planning

 

Where you’ve spent your time and what are you good at:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3 - 5 years of multi-state payroll processing experience including working in California
  • 2 - 3 years of HR generalist or recruiting experience
  • Must have comprehensive payroll knowledge with ability to correctly calculate multi-state pay based on hours worked, overtime, PTO, holiday pay, deductions (taxes, healthcare benefits, 401k savings plans)
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now platform required (Payroll, HR/ Benefits, Time and Labor)
  • Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; written and verbal communication
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate with all levels of the organization including remote locations
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, show adaptability and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy with a strong attention to detail
